When you register for the Portage-Brady Masonic Lodge #340 member portal, we collect personal information you provide directly, including:

- Profile information: phone number, mailing address, lodge affiliation, appendant body memberships, and avatar photo (all optional)
- Masonic history: degree dates, locations, title/office history
- Communications: direct messages, forum posts, and event comments
- Financial records: dues payment history
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the member portal
- Display your profile to fellow lodge members (respecting your privacy settings)
- Send lodge communications, event reminders, and mass emails
- Process and track dues payments
- Enable member-to-member messaging
- Maintain lodge administrative records
3. Information Sharing & Visibility
Your information is shared only within the lodge membership, subject to your privacy settings:
- Email & phone: visible to other members only if you enable sharing in your profile settings
- Name & avatar: visible to other active members in the directory
- Financial records: visible only to you, the Treasurer, Secretary, and administrators
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access data they're authorized to see
- Role-based access control for administrative functions
- Secure password hashing — we never store plaintext passwords
- Session-based authentication with automatic token refresh
5. Cookies & Sessions
We use browser local storage to maintain your login session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics services. Session data is stored locally on your device and is used solely for authentication purposes.

- Control the visibility of your contact information (email and phone sharing toggles)
- Request deletion of your account by contacting a lodge administrator
- Export your personal data upon request
7. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your membership is active. If your account is deactivated, your profile data is preserved but inaccessible to other members. Complete deletion can be requested through a lodge administrator.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated through the member portal. Your continued use of the portal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
